Members Covenant
When joining Calvary, the members agree to the Membership Covenant with one another and before God. This Covenant will be regularly reaffirmed aloud by the entire church membership, as a reminder of mutually held commitments.
Since we have been brought by God’s grace to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, and have repented and have been baptized by immersion upon our profession of faith, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, relying on His grace, solemnly and joyfully make this covenant with one another.
As members of Calvary Baptist Church:
We will, in every area of life, submit to the authority of Scripture, pursue Christlikeness and personal holiness, and do all things to God’s glory.
We will work and pray to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace with our fellow believers, assembling ourselves together for regular church services and congregational meetings. We will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together.
We will give of our financial resources to the ministries of Calvary Baptist Church and actively participate in the ministries of the church as stewards of God’s gifts.
We will submit to the biblical admonition, instruction, and direction of one another and of the leadership of Calvary Baptist Church.
We will pray for ourselves and for others.
We will rejoice in each other’s happiness, bear one another’s burdens and sorrows, admonish one another’s sins, and encourage one another toward godliness.
We will bring up our families in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
We will seek the salvation of people in our community through evangelism and throughout the world.
We will immediately seek out and join ourselves to another church of like faith when we move.
