The new Jerusalem is adorned by twelve gates, on which the twelve names of the tribe of Israel is inscribed and has twelve foundations with the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. These serve as an eternal reminder that through the person and work of Christ, foreshadowed in the Old Testament and recorded in the New Testament, all who are in Christ will enter into God’s presence.
